White and Black Jersey

Widnes Vikings play their home games in strip of white and black shirts, with black shorts and socks. The away strip is red and black shirts with the black shorts and socks. Probably one of the most famous local names to don the shirt was: Doug Laughton.

Before Super League they were one of the stronger teams in British rugby league, winning the Championship in 1977-78, 1987-88 and 1988-89, the Challenge Cup in 1929-30, 1936-37, 1963-64, 1974-75, 1978-79, 1980-81 and 1983-84 as well as the Premiership in 1979-80, 1981-82, 1982-83, 1987-88, 1988-89 and 1989-90. However have generally struggled since then. They were dubbed "Cup Kings" after going to Wembley nearly every year in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The club went into administration in October 2007 but has since been purchased by Steve O'Connor.
