Warrington Wolves are a professional rugby league team which was originally formed in 1879, in the town of Warrington, Cheshire. The Wolves play their home games in the 14,000 capacity Halliwell Jones Stadium, Winwick Road, Warrington. The club have the nicknames of The Wire or Wires, a reference to the wire-pulling industry which was based in Warrington.

Blue, Yellow and White Jersey

Warrington Wolves play their home games in blue, yellow and white shirts made by Canterbury. The shirt has been pulled on by some major overseas signings recently such as: Chris Leikvoll, Brent Grose, and Henry Fa'afili as well as British stalwarts such as Adrian Morley and Lee Briers.

Warrington Wolves finished the 2007 season in 7th place in the table which was seen as a disaster for the club following the expensive signings made during the close season. Finishing 7th resulted in Warrington Wolves missing out on the end of season playoffs for the first time in 3 years with local rivals Wigan Warriors piping the Wolves on the last weekend of the season. However the clubs previous record is: Championship winners 1947-48, 1953-54 and 1954-55, Challenge Cup in 1904-05, 1906-07, 1949-50, 1953-54 and 1973-74, as well as Lancashire League in 1937-38, 1947-48, 1948-49, 1950-51, 1953-54, 1954-55, 1955-56 and 1967-68, Lancashire Cup in 1921-22, 1929-30, 1932-33, 1937-38, 1959-60, 1965-66, 1980-81, 1982-83 and 1989-90. Plus Regal Trophy in 1973-74, 1977-78, 1980-81 and 1990-91.
