St.Helens thrash Castleford to stay top

Super League leaders St Helens ran in 12 tries to destroy Castleford and extend their winning run to 14 games, keeping them on top of the table by points difference.

Matt Gidley started the rout by giving Saints the lead after just two minutes. Sean Long, Lee Gilmour, Ade Gardner, Paul Clough, Chris Flannery, Jon Wilkin and Francis Meli all crossed to helped make it 46-0 by the interval.

Castleford managed two consolation tries after the break but James Roby, Paul Sculthorpe (2) and Meli all went over to complete the emphatic victory. Final Score:
