Hull FC who are also known as the Airlie Birds and Black and Whites, play their home games in strip of black and white shirts, with white shorts and black socks. The away strip is all dark blue. A couple of well known Welshmen from the past have donned the shirt, in: Tommy Harris and Clive Sullivan.

The club has had periods of reaching the top honours and to-date they are: Championship in 1919-20, 1920-21, 1935-36, 1955-56, 1957-58 and 1982-83 Challenge Cup in 1913-14, 1981-82 and 2005, Premiership 1990-91, Yorkshire Cup in 1922-23, 1968-69, 1981-82, 1982-83 and 1983-84, Yorkshire League in 1918-19, 1922-23, 1926-27 and 1935-36, plus the John Player Trophy in 1981-82 and the last BBC2 Floodlit Trophy in 1979-80.
