Early missed chances proved costly for the Rhinos as the Wolves took theirs with Ryan Atkins touching down for their first on 14 minutes, the rest of the half Warrington continued to score as Leeds were held up so it was as they went over again through Chris Hicks but Westwood could not add the extras 8-0. The half ended with Atkins dotting down his second try in controversial circumstances, converted at last by Ben Westwood to give us the half-time score of: Leeds 0-14 Warrington.

Magic Weekend 2011 back to Cardiff

The Magic Weekend is moving back to Cardiff, but in a surprise to us all it will be the opening weekend of the Super League season.

The move from Edinburgh comes about because figures were down by 10% in the same weekend in 2009. However it seems to be a major gamble to move to Cardiff and change the date as well. So watch this space must be the conclusion!

Holders Warrington Wolves will return to Wembley on 28 August after storming to a dazzling nine-try Challenge Cup semi-final win over Catalans Dragons. The French side, beaten finalists in 2007, had beaten Warrington 29-28 in Perpignan a fortnight ago and came into this match with high hopes, however the writing was on the wall within 12 minutes.

4 tries to 1 in the first period saw Warrington out to a 24-6 half-time lead. The second period and it got worse for the French outfit as Warrington ran in 5 tries to their one, to give us the final score of:

Leeds into Final – Leeds 32-28 St Helens

This semi-final had it all, drama, tension and some fine tries with Danny McGuire getting his 201st career try giving Leeds the win in a thriller against St Helens and sending the Rhinos into their first Challenge Cup final since 2005.

Saints seemed to be in charge when they led 18-8 at the break thanks to three quick tries from Paul Wellens, Keiron Cunningham and Francis Meli. But after Matt Gidley and Ryan Hall had exchanged scores, Leeds regained the lead through Brent Webb and McGuire. James Graham put Saints ahead again but McGuire dived over late on to win it, giving us the final score of:
