The Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Home shirt keeps the traditional colours of blue and yellow, though predominately blue. The shirts are manufactured by ISC the major League shirt manufacturer and their logo is in the upper middle chest, whilst the main club sponsor Leeds Building Society is on the torso and the Leeds motif on the left chest, with Berrys on the right. We expect these will be popular so to place your order, just follow this link to the Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Shirts page.

Predictions for Leeds Rhinos Rugby League in 2012

The Rhinos have a proud record in all competitions with a couple of wins in the World Club Challenge in 2005 and 2008. The have won the Challenge Cup 11 times, but not since 1999. Though they made the final since then in 2000, 2003, 2005 as well as 2010 and 2011.
Leeds Rhinos will look to go one better this season in the Carnegie Challenge Cup, having gone down 18-28 to Wigan in the 2011 final. We expect them to still been in contention but to go out in the Semi-Finals this season over the weekend of 7/8 July.

The Rhinos will be looking to repeat their performance of 2011 when they took the Super League crown with a powerful display in beatingt St Helens 32-18 on the 8 October at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester. That was their sixth appearance in the last 10 years and they were able to emulate the wins in 2004,2007,2008 and 2009. By doing it again in 2011. We see them being in contention and taking the crown again in 2012.

Predictions

Super League 2012: Champions
Challenge Cup 2012: Losing Semi-finalists

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has signed a new four-year contract keeping him at the club until 2014. This means the 30-year-old Great Britain international will spend his whole career at Headingley.

Sinfield told BBC Radio Leeds: (quote) The club has always been loyal to guys that have come through the system and it is really nice to be rewarded. I never wanted to go anywhere else, and I feel lucky I have been able to play my whole career here. The club is as good as it gets. People make a club, and the people and environment at this place is fantastic and you do not want to go anywhere else. The friends I have got here, the culture that’s been created, the success we’ve had and the way people want to take this club forward and continue to challenge for silverware is something I really want to be a part of. (end quote)

As he begins his 15th season at Headingley, Sinfield is already assured of his place in Rhinos history. He has led them to four Championships and has captained them in 12 finals, including four Grand Finals and two World Club Challenge victories.

Leeds finished the regular season with the League Leaders Shield after a hard fought win away at Salford.

Tries from Luke Adamson and John Wilshere helped Salford to a deserved 12-0 lead but Leeds came back to level by the break thanks to Kallum Watkins and Jay Pitts scores.

The Rhinos took the lead for the first time in the second half with Luke Burgess and Brent Webb putting them 24-12 up. Salford fought back late on, but Carl Abletts try was enough for Leeds.

Paul, who has played in every Super League season, has signed to play for Leigh next season at the age of 33 and he was looking to end with a win, which his colleagues certainly tried to ensure with late scores from Stuart Littler and Stefan Ratchford taking the home team to within six points of their opponents.

Robbie Paul

It was a pass from Paul that created the break for Ratchford, although the 21-year-old still had a lot to do, sprinting past several Leeds defenders from within his own half. But the visiting team held on to finish the regular season four points clear of second-placed St Helens. With the final score of:

Salford 24-30 Leeds

Scorers

Salford
Tries: Adamson, Wilsher, Littler, Ratchford Goals: Wilshere 4

Leeds
Tries: Watkins, Pitts, Burgess, Webb, Ablett Goals: Smith 5

Teams

Salford: Fitzpatrick, Wilshere, Henry, Littler, McGilvray, Smith, Ratchford, Cashmere, Alker, Stapleton, Sibbit, Adamson, Swain. Replacements: Leuluai, Paul, Sidlow, Nash.

Leeds: Webb, Donald, Smith, Watkins, Hall, Ablett, Burrow, Leuluai, Diskin, Peacock, Lauitiiti, Kirke, Worrall. Replacements: Jones-Bishop, Bailey, Burgess, Pitts.

Referee: T Alibert (Toulouse)

The Rhinos are the current Super League champions and will have to come through the restructured end-of-season play-offs if they are to retain their title. Leeds will meet either Hull KR or Huddersfield at Headingley in their opening play-off game next Friday.

The 22-year-old, who will remain with Leeds until the end of the season, has agreed a contract that will keep him at Adams Park until 2012.

Smith has scored 42 tries in 88 games since making his Leeds debut in 2005 and was man of the match in the Rhinos’ 2008 Grand Final victory. Smith, who is comfortable at full-back, wing or centre, won the Harry Sunderland Trophy in last year’s Grand Final for his man of the match display in Leeds’ victory over St Helens and went on to play for England at the World Cup.

Smith said: (quote)It’s a massive challenge, not only as a league player moving to union, but also moving to London. Wasps are one of the biggest clubs in the Guinness Premiership and have some of the best players in England. The opportunity to train alongside players of such calibre with a coaching team of (director of rugby) Tony Hanks and (head coach) Shaun Edwards couldn’t be missed. I have enjoyed some great success at Leeds Rhinos and Wasps were the obvious choice with their history of success in the Premiership and Europe. (end quote)

Tony Hanks said: (quote) Lee is a quality player who will again add strength to our squad for the upcoming season. While still only 22, he has developed an impressive CV already with Leeds and England in rugby league and we are excited about the skill set and experience he will bring with him. Working alongside someone like Shaun, who has worked in both codes, will of course be a massive benefit to Lee and we look forward to welcoming him to the club in November. (end quote)
