The new Australia Rugby League training shirt keeps the traditional colours of green and gold. The shirts are manufactured by ISC, a well known name in the League game and Australian company. The shirt carries no advertising but the Australian motif is on the left chest, whilst the World Cup logo is on the right. This version should be popular so get your order in now, just follow this link to the Australia Rugby League Shirts page.

2013 World Cup Prediction for Australia Rugby League

Australia are still the most successful International team, having won the cup 9 times out of a possible 13 and even though the World Cup is still some time off we see them coming into the tournament as firm favourites. England and New Zealand being the only two nations who could conceivable beat them. England because they are on home soil and New Zealand because they did it last time out in Australia.

The Kangaroos dominance of the Anzac Test continued as they eventually ran out comfortable winners 20-10 at Skilled Park in Robina on Friday night.

The Aussies opened the scoring as early as the third minute as a Darren Lockyer bomb was not controlled by the Kiwis and Billy Slater took advantage and dotted down. Johnathan Thurston adding the extras. The Kangaroos took until the 20th minute to add to their score as new boy Jharal Yow Yeh ran in to make it 10-0. It looked like this would be the score at the break, but the Kiwis strung a move together and Matthew Duffie went in out wide with Benji Marshall adding the extras 10-6 and half-time.

The second period and there was plenty to watch, but neither side could make a breakthrough and so it was until the 69 minute before the Roos could extend their lead. The Kiwis were making loads of unforced errors and at last Billy Slater capitalised and with Thurston converting extended the lead to 16-6. 71 minutes and the final score for the Roos was posted by Jamal Idris taking us to 20-6. But it was the Kiwis who would have a consolation score on the hooter as Lance Hohaia touched down to give us the final score of:

Australia 20-10 New Zealand

A last-minute try from Nathan Fien gave New Zealand a dramatic victory over Australia in the Four Nations final in Brisbane. The Kiwis trailed for much of the game, and were 12-6 behind with 10 minutes to go before tries from Jason Nightingale and Fien turned the match on its head.

Brent Tate’s try had given Australia an early lead, but Shaun Kenny-Dowall brought it level late in the first half. 6-6 half-time.

Billy Slater’s try looked to have won it for Australia before the late Kiwi revival and Nightingale and Fien’s tries.

Following the Kangaroos’ 34-20 victory over the Kiwis a week ago, few had given Stephen Kearney’s side much hope of repeating their 2008 World Cup final success or 2005 Tri-Nations triumph over the same opponents. However, a determined New Zealand side, coupled with injuries reducing Australia to only two replacements for the entirety of the second half enabled them to achieve a superb victory.
Final score:

Australia 12-16 New Zealand

Scorers

Australia
Tries: Tate, Slater Goals: Smith 2

New Zealand

New Zealand: Hohaia, Nightingale, Kenny-Dowall, Mannering, Perrett, Marshall, Fien, McKendry, Leuluai, Blair, Harrison, Matulino, Smith.
Replacements: Eastwood, Luke, Nuuausala, Manu.

Early tries by Cooper Cronk, Brett Morris and Brent Tate put the visitors 18-2 up before Frank Pritchard pulled a try back to give us the half-time score of 10-18.

Further tries by Darius Boyd, Morris and Chris Lawrence put Australia in total control of the match. But late tries by Jason Nightingale and Shaun Kenny-Dowall restored Kiwi pride and made the contest look more even. Final score:

Martin Coyd from the Medway Dragons club said: (quote) Harlequins Coach Brian McDermott drew the names out of a hat and the 17 kids from our club can’t wait. They will be walking out with either the World Champions or the team that are generally regarded as the best team in the world. It is certainly a once in a lifetime opportunity to be able to say that they were there for this event. The club are taking 150 people to this game, Medway Dragons were only formed two years ago and now we have 500 people involved with the club. We have 140 players and 50 volunteers and are enjoying being part of what is a booming London junior league. (end quote)
