Warriors ruin Rhinos day – Leeds 18-28 Wigan

Who else thought that was one of the best finals ever? Shame there has to be a losing team. Wigan blew Leeds away in the first 30 minutes and we all though it would be a walk in the park to a cricket score for them. But you should never write off this Leeds outfit as they fought their way back into the game and went in to the break trailing by just 10-16 with Wigan scoring from; Josh Charnley, Jeff Lima and Joel Tomkins, whilst the Leeds scores came from Ryan Hall and Ben Jones-Bishop.
The second period and the Rhinos got to within 2 points as Carl Ablett scored. Wigan replied with a controversial score to Lima which took them to 22-14, Leeds were not done and Hall came back with a score to close to 22-18. But Warriors closed the game out as Leuluai dotted down to give us the final score of:

Rhinos broke Tigers hearts with a last gasp try and conversion to level the scores and take the game into extra time. Kevin Sinfield then kicked a penalty during sudden death extra time to put Leeds into another Challenge Cup final.

Kevin Sinfield kicked a penalty in the first period to put Leeds into the break with a narrow 2-0 lead. But in the second period a
fine individual try from Rangi Chase put Castleford ahead and two Kirk Dixon penalties extended their lead to 8-2, but a Kallum Watkins’ late converted try for Rhinos took the game to extra time. We then had a Castleford high tackle on Danny McGuire in a kick-able position and Sinfield made no mistake, to give us the final score of:

Wigan into Wembley final – Wigan Warriors 18-12 St Helens

The first 40 minutes in this tense semi-final saw the teams into half time at Wigan 6-2 St. Helens, thanks to a try from Carmont, following the James Foster penalty which saw Saints lead for the only time in the match.

The second period and with Josh Charnley and Sam Tomkins going over for Wigan they were out to 18-2 and looking certain for that final. But you write off St. Helens at your peril and they came storming back into the game thanks to two James Foster tries in the last 20 minutes which he converted to bring us the final score of:

Leeds crash in final – Leeds 6-30 Warrington

Early missed chances proved costly for the Rhinos as the Wolves took theirs with Ryan Atkins touching down for their first on 14 minutes, the rest of the half Warrington continued to score as Leeds were held up so it was as they went over again through Chris Hicks but Westwood could not add the extras 8-0. The half ended with Atkins dotting down his second try in controversial circumstances, converted at last by Ben Westwood to give us the half-time score of: Leeds 0-14 Warrington.
