Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals venues have been announced with Widnes’ Stobart stadium and Warrington’s The Halliwell Jones stadium chosen to stage the showpiece games.

On Saturday 8 August Wigan Warriors will play Warrington Wolves at the Stobart stadium, Widnes. Kick off is at 2.30pm and the game will be live on BBC One.

In the second semi-final to be played on Sunday 9th August, St Helens will face Huddersfield Giants at The Halliwell Jones stadium Warrington, in a game that is a repeat of the 2006 final. The game will be live on BBC Two, kicking off at 4.00pm.

Sally Bolton, the RFL’s Director of Events and Projects, said: (quote) We have consulted with all clubs regarding the venues for the semi-finals and believe that these are ideal stadiums to host these thrilling matches. With clubs just 80 minutes away from Wembley demand for tickets will be huge and supporters are urged to purchase their ticket early as we’re expecting both games to be close to sell-out. Tickets for both Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-finals are on-sale at the four competing clubs, with season ticket holders at each club getting first option to secure their ticket.
